This workout was one of the many “variations upon a theme” that Dave provides for the kettlebell faithful, said theme being: serious exercise. I have trained with Dave and his kettlebells for roughly a year now, and my progress has been remarkable. I lost 20 pounds within the first 5 months, and since then, while my overall weight has remained stable, I have noticed a continued shift in my body composition. I have replaced fat with lean, dense muscle. For the past seven months, as my spare, beer-induced tire, has shrunk (whilst maintaining a substantial regimen of the grog), my wife and I continue to observe enticing modifications in my physique. Relatives and co-workers have also made remarks as to my new-found svelte-ness. From this has followed an overall shift in my attitude (and lung capacity) towards physical engagement. I’d swear on a kettlebell that this is indeed a productive exercise program, or at the very least, the bells themselves provide useful fodder to fire from my cannon at yon broadside. Avast, ye scurvy dogs!
